We’re Coming To Getcha
Hi, I’m Adam Whalley
Now I’m sure you’re going to get to know me over the coming weeks and months, but I wanted to introduce myself and let you know what I’m planning before I launch this fantastic project of Feedback Radio.
Since I can remember, I’ve loved guitars. I’ve loved music played by guitars, and I’ve loved owning the instruments themselves. Music has always played a huge part in my life and my career, but recently I’ve felt like there’s not enough radio outlets providing me with the music I’ve always loved in a way that I’m happy with. Radio is a great thing – it always has been and I believe that it’s only going to get better and better, and while there are a few fantastic places to get your rock fix, I feel there’s space for something new, and something better – and that’s why I’ve created Feedback Radio.
I want to embrace the music that’s inspired so many and introduce the world to the music that will inspire the next generation of music lovers, but I also want to focus on a few key factors. Firstly – Guitars. Feedback Radio is designed for those who love guitars and those who love guitar music. That’s MY Genre. It can be folk, blues, metal, pop – If it has a great guitar part, I’m almost guaranteed to love it. Guitars have been the cornerstone instrument for so much great music that if we filled a radio station with just great guitar music, it would be eclectic, exciting and appealing to so many music lovers – not just those who love guitars. But Feedback Radio is for guitar and music lovers. Not only that, by opening ourselves to be a Guitar loving station, we can give a platform to so many guitarists to embrace and play the music that they love and that has inspired them! To me, this is a really exciting thing.
Secondly – it can’t all be the bloody same! How often do you listen to a radio station for a couple of hours and really enjoy the music, just to be disappointed when the same stuff comes around again for the next few hours? I find it gruelling personally, and this is why I’m building a station with a massive database of music and accepting tracks from new, unsigned and fresh bands. We want to build up our industry and our musical collection – not just consign it to a playlist from the past!
Thirdly, we are going to have unhinged playlists. This is online radio, we don’t have Ofcom and restrictive broadcast standards to adhere to, so we can play whatever we want – whenever we want, and believe me, we are going to! I don’t want to be another station who play’s just the singles. Let’s find deep cuts and album tracks that don’t get played on the radio station. Let’s just build a station of music that is great and music that we love – there’s no way we can go wrong with that!
And finally, great people. I’m going to make sure we have fantastic DJ’s, great personalities, guests and exclusive content so Feedback Radio can become a radio station that people love tuning into, and one that inspires listeners to share the message. I’ve already got some great names in the pipeline, so really do watch this space.
This is what I’m building, and it’ll be coming soon in the form of test transmissions before we launch later on in 2019. So, get ready, get excited and together lets turn it up, and play it loud with Feedback Radio.
